I'm constantly amazed by the power a good idea has over people, the inspiration it creates, and the satisfaction of seeing it come to life... as difficult and rare as that might be.

The perfect Vegas shirt

Trips are better than gifts for Christmas!

December 28th, 2009

For Christmas this year, instead of buying presents, Jenny and I took our families to Las Vegas for a few days. We figured a fun trip to a warm place would be better than battling holiday shoppers to buy everyone some gift that would most likely be re-gifted or sit unused 99% of the time. […]

The 2009 Nog-Off Nogs!

Nog-off 2009!

December 21st, 2009

Yesterday Jenny and I were in the store trying to find “the best” eggnog in the land (or at least in the store). We decided a nog-off was in order, and bought every brand we could find. Of course, we were in a hippy co-op type place so “Dairygold” wasn’t in the running. From left […]

Now THAT is a sport!

December 21st, 2009

Police said members of a hunting party opened fire on Christos Constantinou as he moved through the undergrowth dressed in an animal hide. Forget those loud neon jackets! I think all hunters should dress in animal hide during hunting season. It would definitely make the whole thing a heck of a lot more “sporting”!

Simple home made herbicide

December 20th, 2009

So I’ve got a lot of plants/weeds around my place, and I want to kill most of them… but herbicides are expensive when you start looking at buying gallons of it, and I don’t want my house sitting in the middle of a chemical soup bath either. Fortunately, the answer is simple; 1 cup vinegar […]

My favorite “Auto-Tune The News” is still #3

December 19th, 2009

Sometimes it’s hard to top yourself, you know? My favorite Auto-Tune The News vid is still #3. The Ron Paul segment is great, but I think the Cheney stuff is the best bit which starts at 3:03 and ends with a surprisingly good vocalization that, ironically, isn’t auto-tuned.

Book of Secrets

Book of Secrets

December 19th, 2009

I picked up the Book of Secrets a while back when I went on a recent book buying binge. It was really cheap and I figured it might help battle those random little bouts of boredom one gets from time to time. So what kind of secrets are in this book? Here are just a […]

How to run multiple, separate instances of Outlook!

December 18th, 2009

Ok, ever since Outlook 2000 I’ve been looking for a way to access more than one Exchange server account using Outlook. I recently started using Outlook 2007 and I finally got fed up with not being able to access both my personal Exchange account and my work Exchange account on my home machine. I started […]

Who thinks this is hot?

Who thinks this is hot?

December 18th, 2009

I was searching Google images the other day with SafeSearch turned off (I know, I know). I was looking for a picture of a medical stretcher to include in an email to help illustrate a point I was making, when this curious image popped up in the results: When I first saw it, I couldn’t […]

Medical implant hacking... reminds me of X-Files

Medical implant hacking… reminds me of X-Files

December 18th, 2009

Manufacturers have started adding wireless capabilities to many implantable medical devices, including pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators. This allows doctors to access vital information and send commands to these devices quickly, but security researchers have raised concerns that it could also make them vulnerable to attack. A couple guys from the local University of Washington… …showed […]
