Life in general

Now THAT is a sport!

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Police said members of a hunting party opened fire on Christos Constantinou as he moved through the undergrowth dressed in an animal hide. Forget those loud neon jackets! I think all hunters should dress in animal hide during hunting season. It would definitely make the whole thing a heck of a lot more “sporting”!

Simple home made herbicide

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

So I’ve got a lot of plants/weeds around my place, and I want to kill most of them… but herbicides are expensive when you start looking at buying gallons of it, and I don’t want my house sitting in the middle of a chemical soup bath either. Fortunately, the answer is simple; 1 cup vinegar […]

My favorite “Auto-Tune The News” is still #3

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Sometimes it’s hard to top yourself, you know? My favorite Auto-Tune The News vid is still #3. The Ron Paul segment is great, but I think the Cheney stuff is the best bit which starts at 3:03 and ends with a surprisingly good vocalization that, ironically, isn’t auto-tuned.

Book of Secrets

Book of Secrets

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

I picked up the Book of Secrets a while back when I went on a recent book buying binge. It was really cheap and I figured it might help battle those random little bouts of boredom one gets from time to time. So what kind of secrets are in this book? Here are just a […]

How to run multiple, separate instances of Outlook!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Ok, ever since Outlook 2000 I’ve been looking for a way to access more than one Exchange server account using Outlook. I recently started using Outlook 2007 and I finally got fed up with not being able to access both my personal Exchange account and my work Exchange account on my home machine. I started […]

Who thinks this is hot?

I was searching Google images the other day with SafeSearch turned off (I know, I know). I was looking for a picture of a medical stretcher to include in an email to help illustrate a point I was making, when this curious image popped up in the results: When I first saw it, I couldn’t […]

Why the "internal customer" really shouldn't be

Why the “internal customer” really shouldn’t be

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Something that has always bothered me about working a “corporate job” is the idea of treating your co-workers like customers. The idea of an “internal customer” is everywhere, and is commonly taught at colleges and business schools. Just as satisfied external customers lead to financial success, satisfied employees can also lead to long-term success of […]

Vehicular winter wonder land

Vehicular winter wonder land

Friday, December 18th, 2009

A few days ago, as I sat in my frozen car waiting for it to heat up, I started staring at the frosty flakes on my window. It’s nothing that unusual or out of the ordinary… I just thought I should take a picture of this before it melted.

One of the best images of 2009

One of the best images of 2009

Friday, December 18th, 2009

There are a lot of great images from 2009, but what caught my eye today was this image: Why it’s such a surprising tragedy when a bull “fighter” gets what’s coming to him is beyond me. After sticking the bull with several sharp spears, the bull finally gets a shot at spearing his opponent. Too […]
