Good Morning America – 6 hours for 5 minutes

Well, at 1:00am the good people from Good Morning America knocked on Jenny’s apartment door up in Vancouver BC. They then went about the business of converting her tiny apartment into a live satellite feed studio. Cameras, lights, and a 1000 foot umbilical cord running down 11 flights of stairs to a giant satellite truck on the street. It took 4 hours to setup, and we went live to the east coast at around 4:30am or so. I’ve basically been awake since 1am and I’m totally beat.

After 4 hours of setup, we were only live on the air for like 5 minutes. Here’s a bad quality TV capture of the interview (PDF):

After that the crew took another 2 hours to tear down. Insane!

The funny part was, we must have spent about 30 minutes going back and forth on whether to have me log into my computer during the interview or not. Finally we settled on doing it and I was instructed to turn around and log in when Charlie asked me… but really no other direction than that. So at about 1:20 into the video he talks about me logging into the computer. I just barely start to turn around to do it and he goes “let me ask you a question…”, and you can see the confusion on my face. Kinda funny.
